Earlier yesterday, while on pinterest I saw a photo of a rabbit missing his or her hair in patches. The rabbit was held by someone wearing a blue glove with a lab coat. (photo inserted)
This infuriates me. The company claimed to have on this is L'Oreal. Which, prompted me to look up "cruelty free" cosmetic companies. The photo of the rabbit struck a chord. First of all, it makes me sad for the animal. And sad that this is the example we set as humans. Second, why the hell would I want to use anything that has such an adverse reaction on a living thing?
Another point to bring up is that a company may claim to be "cruelty free" but it may be false advertising. There is a process a company has to go through with the leaping bunny company or peta to be able to register. They then have to pay a fee to be able to use the symbol or logo. If you are unsure about whether a brand or product is "cruelty free" or not I'd suggest checking Peta's site or the Leaping Bunny.
If we continue to purchase these products , they continue to manufacture which in turn continue to test on animals. And more will die on that expense. Is it really even worth it? I sure I can find other things from alternate brands that I like just as much.
So on that accord, I'm compiled a list of popular beauty brands that are on beauty blogs or youtube. As far as the items I have from companies on this list, I have no idea what to do with them. But I can most certainly say, with out a doubt I will not be repurchasing from any brands that are not cruelty free. The ones with the X are not cruetly free. Here is the list:Almay X
